Graciousness is about being pleasantly kind, benevolent, and courteous.
If everyone is gracious, than there will not be people littering, shouting in public and etc.
First example :
Every time when I board SBS Transit or SMRT Buses, I greet the Bus Captains with a cheery "Good Morning!" regardless of which bus I am on. In addition, the vendors at the drink stalls I frequent at Tanjong Pagar, Chinatown and Harbourfront always ask me how my day is going. I appreciate their care and concern for me very much, and I try to pass this on to others too. *adapted from http://kindness.sg/?q=node/27
Second example : Just be a gracious person in accepting thanks and appreciations. Be gracious in accepting your debt to others. Be gracious to people who helped you on your way. Be gracious to favors that others have shown. Be gracious when someone is remembering you. Be gracious in forgiving some oversights. After all it is only from your mistakes that you learn more than from your successes.
When you are gracious, others in your immediate environment also become gracious. All it takes is one person being gracious so as to make a difficult situation becoming easy and moving on smoothly.
